A new leak describes the iPhone 18e, the successor to this year’s iPhone 17e. Tipster Digital Chat Station says on Weibo that the phone keeps a 6.12-inch OLED panel at 60Hz, runs Apple’s A20 chip and has a single 48MP camera on the back.
Apple has not announced the phone or said anything about it. Treat all of it as unconfirmed until Apple speaks. We could not open the Chinese-language post itself, so these details come from GSMArena’s summary of it.
What the tipster claims
According to the Weibo post, the screen is an LTPS OLED, which means no move to a faster refresh rate. The chip is the A20, which the post says is built on a 2nm process. On the back there is one 48MP sensor, matching what the iPhone 17e already has. A 24MP front camera, up from 12MP, is floated as a possibility.
The 9GB of RAM that appears in some summaries is not part of this post. It comes from an earlier GSMArena report on a rumour from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who earlier suggested the A20 for this model too.
An earlier leak said the same about the screen
The display details are not new. The same tipster posted screen specs earlier for the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2, again from a single Weibo post. In that version the 18e has a 6.12-inch LTPS OLED at 60Hz, slightly bigger than the iPhone 17e’s panel by about 0.02 inches, while the iPhone 18 and Air 2 get 120Hz LTPO screens. That earlier post also floated a spring 2027 launch, possibly in April, which is again the tipster’s guess rather than an Apple date.
If both leaks hold, the 18e would be a chip-and-selfie-camera refresh of the current model with the same refresh rate and the same rear camera resolution. That is a read of the leaks, not something Apple has described.
Timing
Apple launched the iPhone 17e in March 2026, so a spring 2027 release would fit the pattern, but no leak has given a date. Battery size and price have not leaked either.
