Rockstar Games has put a date on the music Justice wrote for Grand Theft Auto VI. The Original Score comes out on 11 December, on streaming services and as a double CD and a triple vinyl set, and one new track from it is already playable.
That track is “Pusher”, recorded with the French producer Gesaffelstein. The other named single is “Flower in a Hurricane”, which features Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard.
Two albums, two dates
The score is not the soundtrack album Rockstar announced last month. GTA 6: The Album is a 34-track collection by various artists and is due on 19 November, the same day the game itself arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Justice record is a separate release three weeks later and is built from the music the duo composed for the game.
Rockstar’s Newswire post introduces the project as the work of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, who it describes as Grammy Award winners. The album has 30 tracks, according to reports on the announcement, with extra digital bonus tracks in every format.
In practice that gives listeners two different things to track. The November album is a mix of songs by many artists, closer to a radio playlist. The December release is the work of a single act, and it is the one to wait for if you care about the composition rather than the playlist. So far only the two singles, “Pusher” and “Flower in a Hurricane”, show how it sounds.
What you can buy
- Streaming on all major music services from 11 December
- A two-disc CD
- A three-LP vinyl edition
- A limited three-LP edition on “crystal clear” vinyl
Pre-saves for streaming and links to the physical pre-orders are collected on Justice’s release page, which lists Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music and Tidal. The page does not give a release date itself, and we found no country list for the physical editions, so whether a given shop ships to Pakistan has to be checked at checkout.
The order of events is simple: “Pusher” is streamable today, the game lands on 19 November, and the full score follows on 11 December.
