Samsung has started sending One UI 9, its Android 17-based software, to the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. They are the first Galaxy tablets to get it, and the rollout began in South Korea on 29 October.
Other regions are expected to follow within days, but the reports we read give no country-by-country schedule, so owners elsewhere should keep checking Settings > Software update.
SamMobile reported the rollout, and the first build number surfaced in a post by tipster Alfatürk on X: X930XXU9CZJ6 for the Tab S11 series in Korea. Android Headlines puts the Ultra’s download at 3.4GB. SammyGuru lists different Korean builds ending in CZJ5 (X736NKOU9CZJ5 for the Tab S11, X936NKOU9CZJ5 for the Ultra), so the exact version will vary by model and region.
What One UI 9 adds on a tablet
That report calls One UI 9 a smaller step than One UI 8.5. It lists Samsung DeX improvements for juggling windows, new pen line styles and decorative tapes in Samsung Notes, a customisable taskbar, and a location indicator that shows when an app uses your location in the background.
Other early write-ups mention a redesigned Quick Panel and new Galaxy AI features across One UI 9, though they do not say which of them reach tablets.
Installing it
Open Settings > Software update > Download and install. For an update this big, connect to stable Wi-Fi and keep the battery above 40%; the tablet can be unusable for a few minutes while it installs. Package sizes differ by model.
The report expects Samsung to push One UI 9 to other tablets soon after the S11 series.
