Final Fantasy XIV’s next expansion, Evercold, will now launch on 23 February 2027 instead of January. Early access starts on 19 February, and pre-orders open on 4 November 2026.
Square Enix gave the new date at its Fan Fest in Japan, alongside the final trailer for the expansion. In April, when it revealed Evercold, the studio had promised January 2027, so the slip is roughly four weeks.
Evercold follows Dawntrail as the game’s next expansion. When Square Enix announced it in April, it listed PC, macOS, PlayStation, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 as the platforms.
New jobs and crossover raids
A second new job was also shown: Zephyr, a ranged damage dealer who shoots a crossbow and works with a bird companion. It joins the Bastion tank job that Square Enix revealed earlier. According to IGN’s report from the keynote, the expansion also brings a new world and main story, a Neon Genesis Evangelion crossover raid series and a Final Fantasy VII one, with the game moving to version 8.0.
The pre-order bonuses had not been listed when the report went up. We could not find the delay on Square Enix’s own news pages when we checked, so the dates here rest on that report.
