GTA 6 can be downloaded ahead of its 19 November launch, with pre-loading starting on 10 November. Rockstar says the install needs up to 212 GB of free space on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, depending on the console.
The start time depends on the platform. On PS5 the download unlocks at midnight local time on Tuesday 10 November, so it reaches each time zone in turn. On Xbox Series X|S it opens everywhere at once at 12 a.m. GMT, which is 5 a.m. in Pakistan on 10 November and the evening of 9 November in New York.
Rockstar’s newswire post also says boxed versions of the game, which hold a download code instead of a disc, should be in shops from 12 November. The PS5 start follows the region-by-region unlock that players expected for launch day.
212 GB is the upper figure, so the exact size may differ between PS5 and Xbox. A console with a nearly full drive will need games deleted first. On a 20 Mbps connection the download takes roughly a day, which is a reason to start on the first night rather than the last.
Grand Theft Auto VI pre-load begins on November 10. There’s still time to pre-order and ensure you’re able to experience Grand Theft Auto VI when it launches on November 19.

On 19 November Rockstar will put a free poster to print at home, with cover art on one side and a map of Leonida on the other, on its website. A double-sided printed copy will go on sale from the Rockstar Store shortly after launch, for $0.99 on its own or free with any other Rockstar Store purchase.
Rockstar has not said whether a day-one update will add to the 212 GB.
