Galaxy S27 Pro reportedly gets a lower chip than the Ultra

Trade records reportedly list the Galaxy S27 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Ultra with the stronger Extreme version.

Key points

  • Trade records list Exynos 2700 for the Galaxy S27 and S27+ in Europe.
  • The S27 Pro is listed with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, the Ultra with the Extreme chip.
  • Samsung has not announced the series, so all of this is unconfirmed.

Samsung’s next flagship line may not use the same chip across its top models. Trade records reportedly list the European Galaxy S27 Pro with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the Galaxy S27 Ultra gets the stronger Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.

The details come from import-export entries on the NBD trade data platform, as read by Notebookcheck. Samsung has not announced the Galaxy S27 series, so everything below is a leak and could change.

The entries cover four international models, listed below.

Model Code Chip listed Screen
Galaxy S27 SM-S952B/DS Exynos 2700 6.3 inches
Galaxy S27+ SM-S956B/DS Exynos 2700 6.7 inches
Galaxy S27 Pro SM-S957B/DS SM8950 (Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6) 6.5 inches
Galaxy S27 Ultra SM-S958B/DS SM8975 (Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6) 6.9 inches

All four records also give 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The S27 and S27+ would use the Exynos 2700, Samsung’s upcoming in-house chip, while the Pro and Ultra both go to Qualcomm. The SM8975 code on the Ultra is Qualcomm’s top flagship chip of this generation, which is why the Pro’s lower SM8950 stands out.

By size the line-up runs from the 6.3-inch S27 up to the 6.9-inch Ultra, with the Pro sitting between the S27 and the S27+ at 6.5 inches. The records come from import-export filings, so they show what was shipped under each model code and nothing about design, cameras or software.

A Pro on a lower chip than the Ultra would be an unusual split. Notebookcheck points out that Xiaomi uses a similar arrangement, with the 18 Pro on the standard chip and the larger 18 Pro Max on the Extreme one.

A tipster’s earlier claim that there was no sign of the Exynos 2700 in the European Ultra fits with this listing, which gives the Ultra a Snapdragon.

The report describes the records as covering the European variants and says the details stay preliminary until Samsung confirms them. Samsung has not given a launch date, a price or a final name for any of the four models, and the records show nothing about cameras, batteries or colours.
