If you have an iPhone on iOS 27 and have been waiting to try Siri AI, the queue may be gone. Apple has rewritten its Siri AI support page so that the waitlist applies only when demand is high. In normal times, turning the feature on starts the download straight away.
The steps are the same as before: open Settings and tap “Try Siri AI (Beta)”. Until now the page said that doing this added you to a waitlist, with waiting times that varied. After the edit it says the download begins automatically, and that during periods of high demand you might be placed on a waitlist first.
The change was spotted by 9to5Mac, which compared the old and new wording of the document. Apple has not said how it decides that demand is high, or how long anyone would wait when that happens.
Siri AI is the assistant Apple introduced with iOS 27, and it is still in beta, which is why a button in Settings, rather than an automatic update, switches it on. Turning it on is a deliberate step on each iPhone, and the support page describes it that way. That makes the waitlist wording the only thing that changed in the process.
The waitlist has been part of Siri AI since iOS 27 reached the public this autumn, when Apple used it to gate access. The button still carries the “Beta” label, and Apple’s wording leaves room for the queue to return if demand jumps again.
