A WhatsApp event no longer has to stay among WhatsApp users. Make one, copy its link, and send it to a friend or relative who has never installed the app: the page shows the plan and lets them answer yes or no.
Alongside the links comes an Events Home, one screen that gathers every event you hosted or were asked to, old and upcoming. The idea is to stop hunting through group chats for the message where the plan was made.
Meta’s announcement says you reach the hub from Settings, then Events. Hosts can attach a cover photo, schedule their own reminders and let guests bring someone along.
Privacy is handled in two ways. A guest you don’t know can’t see your phone number, and a guest without an account is shown the venue only once they have replied. Meta also says chats and calls stay end-to-end encrypted, but a public invite link is not a chat, so share it as carefully as any link.

Meta says the change comes from users asking for one place to set up and coordinate a get-together, and it is timing the launch for the holiday season, when family and friends tend to plan meetups. Hosts manage the guest list, replies and reminders from the Events screen, and each invite carries the date, time and a short description written by the host. Anyone planning a family gathering or a school event can therefore send one link instead of copying the details into several chats.
The rollout runs over the next few weeks, so your app may not show the new Events screen yet. Meta named no countries.
