Google Antigravity adds voice mode and cloud agents that run without your PC

Antigravity's latest release lets you talk to the coding agent and start conversations that keep running in Google's cloud, for AI Pro and Ultra users.

Key points

  • Antigravity adds Gemini Live voice mode, rolling out gradually.
  • Remote agents run in the cloud for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
  • Redesigned home and Automations pages, Jupyter viewer and browser upgrades.

Google has released a large Antigravity update that adds a voice mode and remote agents, plus a redesigned home screen and Automations page. Voice and remote agents are rolling out gradually, so not every account will see them yet.

Voice mode runs on Gemini Live. You start it from a button in an empty message box, speak your request and it is handed to the agent. Remote agents are for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers: a conversation started in a cloud project executes on Google’s servers rather than locally, and the same session can be reopened at antigravity.google.com/remote.

Google’s changelog lists plenty more. The new-conversation page greets you at the top with the message box pinned to the bottom, and choosing an agent now happens from within the model menu. The Automations page now groups jobs under Scheduled, Always on and Paused, each showing when it runs next and when it last ran.

Jupyter notebook files now open in the file viewer with code cells, Markdown, tables, images and outputs rendered. Inside the built-in browser you now get a downloads drawer, a choice of download folder, history suggestions as you type a web address, and a reworked address bar that shows more clearly whether a connection is secure.

Appearance settings add a Fill option that stretches conversations across the full pane, a font menu (System UI, Inter or Google Sans) and a screen reader mode. Anyone who has not chosen their own theme and font now gets Onyx and Google Sans. Keyboard shortcuts can be customised under Settings, Shortcuts.

Smaller changes include search for repositories with more than 15 branches, line-count totals in the review panel, syntax highlighting for 173 languages and a faster cold start. The changelog also lists fixes for window size restore, Google sign-in popups in the built-in browser and a Git problem in which moving to a branch that had been deleted could overwrite a same-named file.

Google’s changelog does not give a date for the full rollout of the two headline features, and it does not say whether remote agents will ever come to free accounts. Developers who use Antigravity daily will notice the smaller workflow changes first: the branch search, the review line counts and the faster start.

Google has not said when voice mode and remote agents will reach everyone, or whether remote agents will come to free accounts.
