Kevin Systrom – CEO Instagram, confirms that the development of Instagram has been started for Android platform.
Till now, Instagram has been a popular photo editing and sharing application for one and only platform iOS to support iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. With an intuitive user interface, Instagram lets users editing their photos with common and some special functions as well as applying artistic filters. Users then can share the final picture with their friends over sharing networks like Facebook and Twitter.
CNET reports: The company is bringing the Instagram experience to Android users while the company claims that Instagram, on iOS, has a notable 50 million users.

Systrom told attendees of the LeWeb conference that they have two people working on Android now. But he didn’t inform when the work would be done.
Previously Instagram got a major upgrade in September, which brought the ability to save high-resolution images, four new filters including live filters, instant tilt-shift and borders are now options, one-click rotation and a new icon.
We do believe that bringing the Application to Android platform will boost the user base of Instagram. We also believe that the company should think even broader to bring the application to multiple platforms including Windows Phone and Symbian to reach global, specially to support the devices which do have great Camera capabilities like Nokia N8. But we really don’t think company would have such a plans to bring the application to Symbian.
