UNESCO and Nokia launch “eTaleem”, a mobile phone application to improve literacy skills
UNESCO Pakistan and Nokia have just launched a basic literacy application “eTaleem” for mobile phones. eTaleem will run on Nokia’s most affordable S40 series phones and will allow people to easily access lessons for Urdu reading, phonetics, word synthesis, sentence making, and basic math.
P@SHA ICT Awards were recently held in Karachi in collaboration with Nokia where the participants of MakeMyApp competition awarded the prizes. Winners in each of the categories (Entertainment/ Fun & Games, Business Productivity, Easier Living and Think Gree) received the prize money of PKR 400,000/- in cash. In addition a special winner was awarded a Nokia E7 along with PKR 100,000/- for a truly innovative app – as said.
