Nokia 8’s Dual Camera module leaks with Zeiss optics

Nokia 8 Dual Camera Zeiss Lens

It’s already been officially announced HMD Global about rebounding relationship between Nokia and Carl Zeiss for smartphone camera optics. What could stop leaks from carrying another name on the supposed images?

The recent one comes from the famous Evan Blass of @evleaks showing just a vertical module consisting of two camera lens with a dual-LED flash and a supposedly a laser autofocus. The design of the vertical module resembles the recent lineup of Nokia smartphones however this time it also labels the “Zeiss” as a brand name on the module.

Exactly the similar module has been appeared in previous leaks with and without a fourth component being the laser autofocus in most chances. Once in a prototype device hidden in side a blue shell while the other one was appeared in a slipped-out official video promo that showed the similar arrangement without the fourth component in the module.

Evan posted a shot of camera module most similar to what on the left above but with the “Zeiss” branding in the lower half just above the supposed laser autofocus. However if compared to previous Nokia devices the branding has not been like what we are seeing in this leak. The “Zeiss” branding has always been with the first latter “Z” capitalized and then small letters follow “eiss”.

But there was an exception when all the capital letters “ZEISS” were used without the “Carl” in front. It was the monster 41 megapixels camera module on Lumia 1020.

For whatever reasons you would deny the authenticity of the leaked image, one thing that who’s sharing that image, sure has some credibility. On the other hand a Nokia flagship is already promised to carry Zeiss optics this year. So why not expect this one?

In addition we already have some clues about Nokia 8 which will reportedly be shipped with 13-megapixel dual-camera. The latest we got about the Nokia flagship, is that it will be launched on July 31st at a price of €589 or so.

You can keep your fingers crossed if you are so excited to to have such a device come true under Nokia’s brand name.
