VEON BV a subsidiary of VEON Limited, is partnering with Jazz Pakistan, to launch Pakistan’s first personalized platform to meet the communications and internet needs of Pakistani users.
VEON platform was unveiled today at a Press Conference attended by media and bloggers in Lahore. The event included an “experience zone” for reporters and digital media followers to use the platform, and see its benefits and features first hand, and immerse themselves in the VEON experience.
VEON will be available for all users with features like instant messaging, VoIP calls, browsing within the app. In addition the users will be able to manage their mobile account/subscription, all for free. Free means, Free.
VEON will be exploring partnership opportunities with all mobile operators in Pakistan, including Jazz, and shall be localizing the platform according to market requirements and Pakistani laws.
The platform offers end to end encryption and is keen to work with mobile operators to ensure that the platform protects the privacy of its users, ensuring that the right safeguards are in place to give customers a safe and secure digital environment.
The platform, was developed in-house by VEON BV (in London and Amsterdam). It is free to download on the Apple Store and Google Play. When installing VEON, users will receive exclusive offers, discounts and content from VEON’s global and local partners.
VEON vs WhatsApp
Like WhatsApp or any other such app or service, VEON works on WiFi as well as on 3G/4G internet. But unlike any other service including WhatsApp, VEON works on 3G/4G data even if you don’t have balance in your mobile account. VEON only needs an active 3G/4G connection but doesn’t require an active plan or available balance.
Thanks to partnership with mobile carrier such as Jazz, as it allows its customers to use the service for truly free. It’s exactly like other mobile plans which offer to use specific services to be used free of cost but you have to pay for that selected plan. What’s different is that for VEON, you don’t pay anything at all – no plan, no subscription, but only an active 3G/4G connection.
In addition, it’s gives you access to popular web channels and local offers with special discount vouchers.
