Merger between the two siblings Tecno Mobile and Infinix Mobility

Tecno Mobile and Infinix Mobility have merged their sales and marketing operations in Pakistan. However the two will keep their names and branding intact.

Tecno Mobile and Infinix Mobility, though are two of the subsidiaries of a same parent company – TRANSSION Holdings, have been working separately in Africa and Asia. With the recent development, it’s now official that the two subsidiaries will be merging their operations in Pakistan.

There were rumors, circulating around about the talks between these two companies as well as the third one – itel Mobile. Speculations suggested that the merger could be in various countries where the companies are already operating. According to recent development it’s only Pakistan where the two will be combining their operations. There is no information regarding such a merger from other regions.

Most likely, it’s just a merger of the staff and businesses where one of the two may acquire the other in later phase. There are opinions that Tecno Mobile might be the one who may acquire Infinix business in Pakistan. That idea is acceptable only if you see Tecno Mobile as a senior contender as it was the first baby of the parent group. In fact, it was parent-turned-child when the company decided to change its role as a company to a subsidiary and instead chose “TRANSSION Holdings” for the company. Infinix was born years later after Tecno.

However the ground situation in Pakistan suggests otherwise. Infinix Mobile started its operations in the country in mid 2015 and has settled its footprints in the market. Whereas Tecno Mobile launched its first phones in Pakistan two years later. You can make a guess who may acquire whom, unless the parent company decides to merge the two under one brand. According to our source, Tecno Mobile’s most staff will be traveling from Lahore to Karachi to settle with Infinix staff.

To keep the things aligned, Infinix smartphones are available below mid-range category while Tecno Mobile has launched devices from lower to higher mid-range categories. Infinix range includes most recent Infinix Zero 5 while Tecno Mobile has launched devices which include camera-centric Camon series, lower mid-range WX4 Pro, and high-end Phantom series. A little scoop is that Tecno Mobile is soon to launch another budget camera-centric “Camon I” smartphone in a few days.
