Vivo APEX – Could be a Truly Bezel-Less Smartphone?

Vivo APEX FullView Concept Phone

MWC 2018 is just around where the smartphone makers have already prepared for something big from their end. Such as Samsung fans are expecting Galaxy S9 with re-imagined camera, Nokia fans are expecting something big from HMD Global at the event tomorrow. Sony is expected to bring Xperia XZ2 smartphone on the stage while other players such as Huawei, HTC and LG have their plans scheduled later.

Right before the time Vivo wants to get into the game of speculations. Vivo Pakistan has just tweeted with a teaser video of concept smartphone – dubbed as Vivo APEX. They calling it as “Truly” Bezel-Less smartphone. Specially due to the lack of a wide cut-out on top like the one found in iPhone X or a U-shaped angle in Essential smartphone.

Such a phone has also appeared leaks a mystery smartphone from Vivo with no apparent speaker, no camera on the front, no navigation on the bottom of the screen. It’s fully covered with the screen along side a narrow edge around the boundary of the screen. The screen is filled with a bunch of icons and Chinese names below them.

Interestingly the video teaser shared by Vivo Pakistan gives a quick splash of exactly a similar sized display but fully white screen. Have a look yourself.

Vivo seems to start promoting this phone (or concept phone as they call it) with the tag line “Unlock the Future”. It may also refer to the under-display fingerprint sensor which has the most chance to reside under this FullView display.

Where the teaser video doesn’t reveal anything specific about the phone it also didn’t mentioned about the date about when the company will be unveiling this phone. Considering the timing right before MWC, will it be there in a few days? That’s not sure too. So you just can wait a little bit more and see if they actually have plans to show something in MWC starting tomorrow.
