Huawei Mate 10 Lite Android 8 Oreo with EMUI 8 started rolling out

Mate 10 Lite Android 8 Oreo

It’s not too long ago when Huawei launched its Mate 10 series of devices in October last year. Of course The Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro were the top tier smartphones of the series powering up the company’s Kirin 970 SoC for the first time. The company launched the series in Pakistan just after a month and that also included the launch of a lower-end Mate 10 Lite with world’s first quad-cameras. That lower-end phone has now started receiving Android 8.0 Oreo upgrade with EMUI 8.

Update: No public roll-out until April 30. Read more detail after the break.

However the Mate 10 Lite was running Android 7.1 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 out-of-the-box but Huawei started the beta program for Mate 10 lite MEUI 8 late last month. Now probably it’s time for a public release and Huawei Pakistan has officially announced the public roll out of Android 8 Oreo update on Huawei Mate 10 Lite.

In a recent tweet, Huawei Pakistan shared the news to its consumers telling them that Mate 10 Lite users will get Android 8.0 upgrade shortly with EMUI 8 on top of it. It’s also told that the roll-out will reach users in phases through the month of April. By then you might get the update.

So if you are one of those months long-awaiting Huawei Mate 10 Lite consumers to get latest Android on your devices. Then it’s here – if you haven’t received the update by now, you can try checking for the update manually by going through Settings > System Update.

The update is apparently available in Pakistan right now but will reach out to other regions sooner than later. So hold tight and expect the update anytime soon this month. You can read about the features you are going to get in your Mate 10 Lite with the most recent software upgrade.

Update: April 17, 2018 04:30 PM – Huawei Pakistan has reached us to inform that they have mistaken about the roll-out. While apologising, they have announced that the public roll-out will start from April 30, 2018. In the meantime, users may still be able to experience the beta update

Huawei Pakistan has claimed that Mate 10 Lite became “the top selling mid-range smartphone in December, 2017 with 40% market share in that category and continued its successful run throughout the first quarter of 2018.”
