Vivo has officially announced the launch of its flagship Vivo X80 series in Pakistan. As expected, the company has only launched the base model, the Vivo X80 5G. The fans won’t get confused to choose one because there is only one variant of the phone to buy, with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

The company launched the Vivo X80 series last month in China while the global launch kicked in with the announcement in Malaysia. Pakistan is the third country to follow with the “Made in Pakistan” Vivo X80 smartphone.

Being the base model, Vivo X80 5G is the most affordable piece of hardware in the latest X-series. While there is no clue if and when the other models or variants of the series will be available for the Pakistan market, X80 5G is the current top tier smartphone from the brand. It packs with the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor.

Screen and Display Features

The Vivo X80 features a 6.78-inch large screen with Samsung’s E5 AMOLED display. The 1080p Full HD+ resolution comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz sampling rate. The X80’s display offers a peak brightness of 1000nits (factory rated). The screen has a 3D curved glass and supports HDR10+.

Performance Features

The X80, right now, comes with 12GB RAM and an internal storage capacity of 256GB which is UFS 3.1. The smartphone features Vivo’s extended RAM feature, a virtual RAM memory of up to 4GB+.

The Vivo X80 is powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9000 4nm chipset. It consists of an octa-core CPU that includes an ultra core of Cortex-X2 that clocks up to 3.05GHz. There are 3 super cores of Cortex-A710, and 4 efficiency cores of Cortex-A510. The chip comes built with the world’s first Mali-G710 MC10 graphics processor. Please note that these performance figures are specified for the chipset itself. Vivo has not disclosed the chip details and the chip could be fixed on different numbers in the Vivo X80.

Vivo X80 smartphone also features the company’s first V1+ imaging chip for enhanced video capture and other camera improvements, especially in the nighttime.

The triple camera system on the back comes with a 50-megapixel camera for main shots. The main shooter packs a Sony IMX866 image sensor of 1/1.49″ type. The PDAF sensor is only 0.67″ large and has a pixel size of 1.0µm. On the outside, the camera features an f/1.8 aperture ZEISS lens with optical image stabilization (OIS).

The two other 12MP and 12MP cameras feature telephoto and ultra-wide-angle lenses with f/1.98 and f/2.0 aperture. Both have 0.34-inch tiny sensors with phase-detect autofocus (PDAF) and simply autofocus. The telephoto camera offers only a 2x optical zoom for 50mm equivalent focal length, while the ultra-wide-angle lens offers as wide as 16mm equivalent focal length.

The whole camera setup features a ZEISS T* coating that helps reduce the ghost effect and straylight and also improves image quality and colours. On the front, the Vivo X80 offers a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.45 lens aperture.

The Vivo X80 does not have any kind of dust or water resistance. It indeed offers Vivo’s in-display fingerprint sensor. There is also an X-Axis linear motor for vibration feedback. other sensors include Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Proximity Sensor, E-compass, Gyroscope, Color Temperature Sensor, Laser Focusing Sensor, and Infrared Blaster.

The Vivo X80 runs the Android 12 operating system and the company’s Funtouch OS 12 on top. The 4,500mAh battery comes with the support of fast charging up to 80-watt. For that, a 20V/4A FlashCharge adapter is included in the retail box.

Price and Availability

The Vivo X80 is now available for pre-booking starting today. Customers can choose from two colour options that are Urban Blue, and Cosmic Black. The sales of the smartphone will start on May 24th. The only variant of 12GB RAM and 256 GB Internal Storage will cost Rs. 159,999.
