OLED iPad mini scores 3,879 single-core in Geekbench 7

A Geekbench 7 listing for the OLED iPad mini shows 3,879 single-core and 9,870 multi-core points, with 12GB of RAM and a five-core A20 Pro.

Key points

  • Geekbench 7 listing: 3,879 single-core, 9,870 multi-core
  • The tested chip has five CPU cores and 12GB of RAM
  • Single-core beats the M5 iPad Pro 13's 3,580

A Geekbench 7 listing for the new OLED iPad mini shows it posting 3,879 points on one core and 9,870 across all of them. That makes its single-core result higher than the M5 iPad Pro 13’s, even though the iPad mini is far smaller than that tablet.

The run is for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model, and Apple starts delivering the iPad mini on 6 November, so these are pre-release numbers from a single unit and real-world results may differ.

Five cores, 12GB of memory

The GSMArena report on the listing says the chip has two performance and three efficiency cores, with the performance cores at 4.93GHz. A five-core count suggests a lower-storage configuration, since GSMArena says Apple turns off an efficiency core on the 128GB and 256GB iPad minis and keeps all six only on the 512GB one. The listing also shows 12GB of RAM, a figure Apple does not publish and which matches what we reported from Xcode data earlier today.

Device (Geekbench 7) Single-core Multi-core
iPad mini (2026), A20 Pro with 5 cores 3,879 9,870
iPhone 18 Pro Max, A20 Pro with 6 cores 4,024 11,424
Previous iPad mini 2,638 7,103
iPad Pro 13, M5 3,580 15,126
iPad Air 13, M4 3,206 12,686

Against its predecessor, the new model is about 47% faster in single-core and 39% in multi-core. The extra cores in the M-series chips still win on multi-threaded work, with the iPad Pro well ahead there.

In the US, Apple’s announcement lists a $699 starting price for the Wi-Fi model. We covered the launch when it was announced on 26 October.
