Two of the Nokia services and apps, Chat Client “IM for Nokia” and “Social Networking Client” – earlier designed specially for Symbian^3 devices – now have been updated to work with Nokia Belle with additional features and Belle UI. In fact these new versions won’t support initial Symbian^3 or later Symbian Anna OS as these new versions come with new widgets specially for Nokia Belle home screens.
One of the most useful apps that transfers contacts from an old phone to new Nokia Windows Phone Lumia 800, “Contacts Transfer” app recently has received an update in the marketplace.
We have heard about free rides in India previously offered by Nokia India to promote Nokia Lumia 800. Afterwards their campaigns proceeds and design Jet Airways India with Lumia colors. A popular camera app for camera giant Nokia N8, CameraPro N8 provides enhanced camera functions, has already received various updates till now including bug-fixes, user interface changes and functionality enhancements. Today CameraPro N8 has again received an update listing at Nokia Store with bug fixes.
Nokia Pakistan and Djuice (A Subsidiary of Telenor) have collaborated to start a chain of developer workshops to train software developers . Focusing on the development for Nokia’s S40 devices, the aim of these workshops is to cater to the lower-end of the market. The first workshop in this chain was held at Telenor regional office where Tony Torp (an external trainer from Nokia) shared the details of development tools available to develop mobile apps for S40 devices while hands-on training session was also delivered to the participants.
It’s still an issue for many to check what version of Qt framework they have installed on their Symbian smartphones. Mostly it is because now many of the apps are based on Qt frameworks. Probably every next version of Qt is getting released more often. Many of the apps as well sometimes conflict with the installed version of Qt framework. Correcting earlier story of $100 Million, The Microsoft’s marketing push on Windows Phone will count up to $200 Million and not $100 Million which will not only be helped by Nokia for Nokia Ace but other hardware manufacturers or OEMs e.g. Samsung for their Windows Phone line-up.
