Nokia Car Mode with Alpine ICS-X8 and MirrorLink
Today at the IAA – Iternationale Automobil Ausstellung, Nokia has announced a standalone smartphone application, Nokia Car Mode, for the in-car use of Nokia smartphones. The application features an optimized user interface and experience to simplify the use of Nokia Drive (an application for voice-guided car navigation with Nokia Maps), traffic updates, music and voice calls while driving. Main thing to tell that Nokia Car Mode, as titled above, is to feature the support with MirrorLink (that is the way a smartphone will interact with the head-units in your car’s dashboard.)
Dropbox just announced about the new revamped Dropbox mobile website for browsers in iPhone, Android and Windows Phone 7. Just for our curiosity we check the website on Symbian Browser v7.4. Dropbox mobile website works the same way as it worked on iPhone’s Safari browser.
Nokia and Microsoft will now ship serious productivity and business apps to Symbian Belle smartphones by the end of year 2011. The apps include (Microsoft Lync, Microsoft PowerPoint Broadcast, Microsoft OneNote, Microsoft Document Connection). The updates will be sent out to the devices via in-device Software Update app. As yet informed, “Microsoft Apps” will be the name of the update which will contains all these apps.

Nokia Sleeping Screen beta has been updated and now can be installed on any drive. Earlier it was important to install it on C: (Phone Memory) for some limitations. The new version also has some bug fixes.

As Firefox’s gone updated once again to version 6, Beta Labs just pushed another update to support latest Firefox 6. As well the new update has been labeled as Beta that will shortly be updated to commercial application.
