Nokia is back into business of making smartphones – now running Android operating system, not by itself though. HMD Global is making that happen for the loyal Nokia fans around the world. Recently Nokia 3, 5 and 6 were launched are now available across various regions around the globe.

All of the phones run Android 7 Nougat and are bound receive Android O once it’s available publicly as Nokia Android devices will contain the official stock Android flavor and will receive monthly security patches as well. So consider your Nokia device to get updates faster than other brands.

Even though your Nokia smartphone is set to receive next update, you might get into trouble with your phone as all smartphones may come across things like “trouble”. There might be times when they start behaving weird, start freezing or lagging, stuck at bootloop or sometimes even they can’t start at all. Bricked or not bricked you don’t know, what you know is your phone is giving you a hard time.

The factory reset option that comes with all the phones, mostly could fix some problems but sometimes it fails. We always recommend our readers to try factory reset option from within the phone first before trying anything like flashing or manually installing/upgrading phone’s firmware.

So when all of the options fail to get your phone back up running smoothly, flashing or manually installing the official factory firmware or the stock ROM (most commonly known in Android world.)

Steps to flash stock ROM on your Nokia 3

  1. Install VCOM drivers – follow guide here. You might not need to perform this step if you already have them installed previously. You should know if you did, otherwise just install VCOM drivers.
  2. Download SP Flash Tool latest version if you haven’t already.
  3. Download Nokia 3 firmware/stock ROM (provided the needrom.com). Extract the firmware archive into a folder on your computer.
  4. Turn-off your phone and follow our generic flash guide here. During the flash process, use the ROM/Firmware you downloaded in previous step.
