According to recently shared results by DxOmark, Huawei’s latest flagship Mate 10 Pro takes the second spot for its camera after Google Pixel 2. Mate 10 Pro gains a total score of 97 on the camera expert’s meter.

With 97 as total score, Huawei Mate 10 Pro gains the 100-mark label for the photos which recently Galaxy Note 8 obtained as well. However Mate 10 Pro’s video score takes the bump as well with the 91 scores. Currently the topper – Google Pixel 2 is keeping the total score of 98.

Key camera features of Huawei Mate 10 Pro include a dual-camera configuration with 12MP RGB and 20MP monochrome sensors. The sensor features phase detect and laser autofocus. On top, it equips with dual f/1.6 Leica lenses and a dual-tone LED flash. It can record up to 4K/2160p videos at 30fps and 1080p vidoes at 30/60fps.

If you have been following DxOMark’s camera tests, you’d probably know that their results are based on scores of photos and videos separately. The experts have praised Mate 10 Pro for its “phenomenal Photo sub-score of 100 points”. DxOMark has noted that Huawei’s latest flagship can capture good exposures, works really good with its wide aperture mode for “mild but attractive bokeh effect with new artifacts”. Autofocus, which is the key part in any smartphone camera, is noted to be an outstanding one in Huawei Mate 10.

“The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is a very capable performer in video mode, too, achieving a video sub-score of 91 points. Video autofocus is fast and accurate, with good tracking capabilities and generally low levels of noise.”
