Huawei P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro+ official with Triple, Quad, and Penta Camera Setup.

Huawei P40 Pro+

Huawei has officially announced its latest flagship P40 series with three smartphones – Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro, and Huawei P40 Pro+ in an event, broadcast live on YouTube.

Despite having a powerful system inside, the P40 trio focuses on photography with the tagline “visionary photography” that indeed has a lot to offer. The Huawei P40 offers a 50MP main, 16MP ultra-wide-angle, and an 8MP telephoto, triple rear camera setup and a 32MP front camera.

Huawei P40 Series Camera

The standard Huawei P40’s three cameras have f/1.9, f/2.2, and f/2.4 lens aperture respectively with optical image stabilization on the main and ultra-wide-angle units. 32MP front camera has a companion IR camera as well. The camera supports 3x optical zoom and 5x hybrid zoom with 30-times maximum digital zoom.

Huawei P40 Triple Camera Setup

The Huawei P40 Pro offers a quad-camera setup also with the same 50MP main camera but a more attractive 40MP ultra-wide-angle “Cine Camera”.  There is a 12MP SuperSensing Telephoto camera and the fourth 3D depth Sensing Camera. The three cameras come with respective f/1.9, f/1.8, and f/3.4 aperture lens, however, the main and telephoto units also feature optical image stabilization. Overall, the camera setup supports both the OIS and AIS (AI stabilization).

The Penta camera setup on the Huawei P40 Pro+ expands the four cameras on P40 Pro with a little but desirable modification. Three camera units remain identical – the 50MP and 40MP camera with a 3D depth sensor. The 12MP telephoto camera is replaced by two separate 8MP+8MP telephoto cameras in Huawei P40 Pro+. Both of them have the aid of OIS with one of them featuring an f/2.4 aperture lens with 3x optical zoom, while the other one has a 10x optical zoom with f/4.4 lens aperture.

Huawei P40 Pro+ Penta Camera Setup

Both the P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ feature a 32MP selfie camera with f/2.2 lens aperture and has a support of secondary depth sensor. This one is also an autofocus camera, unlike many other fixed focus cameras for selfies.

All the three Huawei P40 support 4K video recording at 60fps with both rear and front cameras.
