city-mall-808-38mp-crop-2Nokia has recommended to shoot at “Creative PureView” mode with up to 8 megapixels which actually reduces the noise using the pixel oversampling technique that uses all the 38 megapixels to shoot but downscales the final shot to 8 megapixels. Downscaling from 38 megapixels to 8 megapixels should of course (technically) reduce the digital noise while maintaining the detail which other smartphones really can’t do. But very fortunately Nokia didn’t restrict its users at 8 megapixels and in fact has given the option to shoot at its full amazing resolution. Well that is also stunning. Did you see the 38 megapixels shot above? That brought the whole lot from the scene including smaller digits of phone number on a holding. If concentrating on the same noise & detail matter, then again in 38 megapixels shot Nokia 808 PureView managed to give less noise and much more detail than other contenders but of course not as much as it did in 8 megapixels shot.
