Nokia has officially announced the White Lumia 800 to follow the initial three colours Black, Cyan and Magenta later this month, February. This will be the fourth colour of the first Windows Phone 7 smartphone from Nokia. Like Nokia N9 later came in white glossy finish, White Lumia 800 will also be of same material with glossy finish instead of matte used used for original Lumia 800 versions.
Skype, now when in talks about Windows Phone, has been in talks since Nokia Belle was leaked and stopped working on it. There were various applications on Symbian that actually stopped working on Nokia Belle or started to crash in between their execution due to having some compatibility issues. Skype was one of those but now supports.
After a recent release of software update for Nokia Lumia 800, Community Manager at Nokia Discussions reveals about a future update that be in regard to the audio and camera settings in Lumia 800.
“Extraplugins Accounts UI” is a plugin developed to be embedded with the internal “Accounts UI” of MeeGo Harmattan on Nokia N9/N950. That tells it won’t appear on your “Applications” home view with an icon. Installing the plugin from Nokia Store will add more options in the “Accounts” application on Nokai N9.
This remake version of original Snake features all those controls taken from the old Nokia 5110 and the replica of that phone imaged on to the full screen with touch support. Same original monotone sound of the game also reminds the days of beeping sounds in the mobile phones.
Nokia today has announced about an impressive milestones of 1.5 billion sales count of Series 40 devices. The 1.5 billionth sale of one of the latest Series 40 devices, Nokia Asha 303, was sold to a 21- year old lady in Brazil.
That was no surprise to see the beautiful Lumia 800 residing on top of everything in the box because we knew it’s the same design as we have seen and experienced with Nokia N9. But it’s to believe that this stunning industrial design left no boring impression – in fact it delivered the pretty same impression (we had with Nokia N9) when it came back into our hands bundling with another OS “Windows Phone 7.5” from Microsoft.
A new software update has been started rolling out to Nokia Lumia 800. This is the second update Lumia 800 has received since the first update in December 2011. The latest software update brings fixes to the known issue for battery performance and the issue of keyboard suddenly disappearing.
This is “Nokia Collection” in Marketplace which will not show up in all Windows Phone devices from other OEMs but only in the ones from Nokia. This is what they were talking about back in February 2011 when both companies Nokia and Microsoft partnered. For now these are available for Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710. Lumia 900 is yet near to its launch. We did hold on to this topic of Nokia Collection before and wanted to brief about it once we had a Nokia Winodws Phone device in hands.
Nokia has recently shared a news about MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan 1.2 beta developer update that will be released shortly to the developers with Nokia N950 (Developer’s device.) This early release is supposed to be giving developers some time to test their applications and verify they work flawlessly on the new version of the platform. This shows somewhere to assume that alpha release for Nokia N9 users is also near and coming after wards.
